Ctrl C Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern your use of the Ctrl C macOS application, provided by Liang Wang.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Ctrl C, you agree to these Terms of Use and Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement. If you do not agree, do not install or use the app.

2. App Store License

Ctrl C is licensed, not sold. Your license is subject to the Apple Standard End User License Agreement (the "Standard EULA"), which is incorporated into these Terms. If these Terms conflict with the Standard EULA, the Standard EULA controls to the extent of the conflict.

Subject to these Terms and the Standard EULA, Liang Wang grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Ctrl C on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Usage Rules.

3. Purchase

Ctrl C is offered as a one-time purchase through the Mac App Store. The price displayed by the App Store at the time of purchase applies. Apple handles billing, payment processing, receipts, taxes, refunds, and any applicable storefront policies. Ctrl C does not receive or store your payment-card information.

4. Clipboard Data

Ctrl C stores clipboard history locally on your Mac to provide its core functionality. You are responsible for the content you copy, store, retrieve, or paste using the app and for ensuring that your use of that content complies with applicable law and third-party rights.

Clipboard content may include passwords, verification codes, confidential material, personal information, or copyrighted content. You are responsible for configuring exclusions, retention settings, and other privacy controls appropriate for your use.

5. Acceptable Use

You may not:

  • use Ctrl C for unlawful, fraudulent, or abusive activity;
  • infringe intellectual property, privacy, confidentiality, or other rights through your use of the app;
  • reverse engineer, modify, redistribute, sublicense, or commercially exploit the app except where applicable law expressly permits it; or
  • interfere with the app, the App Store, or the security or operation of any device or service.

6. App Availability and Updates

Ctrl C may be updated to add, change, or remove features, address security issues, or maintain compatibility with macOS. Continued availability of any particular feature, operating-system version, or future update is not guaranteed. Some updates may be required for the app to continue functioning correctly.

7. Intellectual Property

Ctrl C, including its software, design, branding, and original content, is owned by Liang Wang and protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not transfer ownership of the app or grant rights beyond the limited license described above. You retain your rights in the clipboard content you process with the app.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ctrl C is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. No guarantee is made that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, compatible with every application, or able to preserve every clipboard item.

Ctrl C is not a backup service. You should not rely on clipboard history as the sole copy of important information.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Liang Wang will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, business, or goodwill arising from your use of or inability to use Ctrl C. Where liability cannot be excluded, total liability will not exceed the amount you paid for Ctrl C.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions or liability limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot lawfully be limited.

10. Termination

Your license terminates automatically if you materially violate these Terms or the Standard EULA. Upon termination, you must stop using and delete the app. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination, including ownership, disclaimers, and liability limitations, will remain in effect.

11. Changes to These Terms

These Terms may be updated to reflect changes to Ctrl C, applicable law, or App Store requirements. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Your continued use of Ctrl C after an update constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
